Welcome to Wakamiya's English Speaking Society!!

We are Wakamiya Commercial High School's English Speaking Society.

Welcome to our club.
We in the ESS try and develop our English abilities through various means. We work on our writing skills when we exchange email with our fellow students at Gull Lake High School in Canada. This is our second year of exchanging letters. It has helped us learn more about Canada as well as allowing us to make many new friends at the same time.
Our speaking skills are improved as we practice for the various speach contests held througout the year. Every year two of our members enter the Aichi Prefectural Commercial High School English Speach Contest, held annually on November third. Last year, Kaori Kitazawa placed second in the Free Speach division with her speach entitled "How are you spending today?" and, Miyuki Nodake placed third in the Recitation division. We also enter members in the Cantabury Speach Contest held in June.
Our reading skills are improved by reading different classic novels. Some of our favourite novles are by Agatha Christie and Steven King as well as others.
Through watching newly released movies we hope to increase our listening skills. It is also fun. We like to watch Leonardo Decaplio and Brad Pitt in their varoius preformances. Who do you like?
Our goal for the future is to eventually set up a week long student exchange with an English speaking high school

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
